It seems like the financial futures of many Americans have become very grim, but many people are becoming very imaginative and doing new things to get themselves through this rough patch. Myself, I started selling Avon, just in case something happened to my Job and also to prepare for my possible retirement. Do you have some ideas on how to supplement your income when times get slim? moderator | 473+ days ago Well Dolores, I think your website and the building of your online business would classify as an imaginitive and creative way of supplementing your income. I imagine that the entry cost were fairly low and it provides residual income for you. But online sales are just one of many ways people can keep their heads above water with no to small up front costs. I just saw a news peice on a woman who started making clear glycerin soaps with figures and messages imbedded in them for gifts for her family and friends and soon had requests for them from people she didnt even know. Her business expanded from her kitchen to her garage and then to a manufacturing wharehouse. All it takes is a little imagination and energy! |

| 473+ days ago This is a great idea Heidi. I live on SSI for my disability and I knew from the beginning that there was no way I could survive on just that so that is why I started selling Mary Kay. Most months I make more than enough to pay my bills and I have even bought a new car since I started my Mary Kay business. I have seen on the news several time where women are turning to businesses just like this to help supplement their incomes in these hard times. I even posted links to the broadcasts on my TAG page to help show people that it is a good business to be in. But Mary Kay is not the only one out there. There are a lot of ways to make extra money to help in these hard times you just have to do a little searching and know which ones are legitimate and which ones are not. Anyways, this is my thoughts on this. |

Believe it or not people still love Tupperware because it comes with a lifetime warranty and you cannot get that in the department stores with anything you buy nowadays. moderator | 469+ days ago Yes Bobbie, Tupperware is a great Idea. Lots of people LOVE tupperware and the place to sell it is anyplace where people pack a lunch. Especially nowadays when people are trying to save every dime and not going to restruants for their lunch hour tupperware is a great alternative. People can just mention they sell tupperware in their Doctors office, bank lobby, Gym, Child Care center, etc and get some good sales. |

Ruby1 and Debbie4 both make wonderful items for sale on tag. A friend of mine and her sister were laid off from their jobs at the same company a few years ago and they turned their misfortune into a thriving business. I commented on his new physique and he told me he was taking as a supplement and weight loss system a product called Advocare. If you are or like to shop garage sales for books and stuff like that did you know you can make money selling used books on Alibris. Not only can you become a seller but you can become an affiliate. As a seller you sell your own stock and make a percentage from that. As an Affiliate you install banners and drive customers to Alibris and get a percentage from that as well. moderator | 433+ days ago Caroll, to get CASH from upromise you have to download thier request form. you fill it out and if it is more than (I think) 250 you have to have it notarized. You can request the cash once a quarter, and they disburse it once a quarter so if you request early in the quarter it will take a long time. You Can choose to put it in the mutual fund but I did not. But to answer your question YES they will send a Check directly to you from your upromise account. YOU do not have to set up an investment account if you do not want to.... I didnt. Once you get your money you can spend it as you wish. |

Of course you have. If you have some orignal content and a few friends to watch your videos you can make some extra money uploading your videos onto You tube by becomeing a you tube partner. Here is an article describing others who have done the same thing. LINK Just think you could post YOUR own videos on TAG just to get yourself started. here is the link for getting partnered with You tube. Remember you must have original content. NO copywrite violaters. LINK It probably would take some time to get started, but it could mean a supplement to your income or if you have a great idea and can make a really good video you might even replace your job. Some people are making Thousands of dollars at this. Be aware that it would help to have many subscribers to your videos before applying for partnership. |

Refundcents.com is a great site which spells out in detail how to go about saving money on these items and many more. If you decide to subscribe you have access to the trading boards and everything on their site. A trial membership is very reasonable at $4 for 3 months online only. Some areas of the site you can get into without a subscription. Tons of good stuff on there that most people would NOT believe!!
